No. Storage Studio runs entirely on-device. Files move between your internal SSD and your external NVMe — nothing is uploaded anywhere. The only network traffic is license validation and (if you opt in) anonymous telemetry.
Storage Studio only checks whether your camera or microphone is in use — a read-only OS flag — so it can pause heavy auto-actions during meetings. No audio or video is ever captured or recorded.
Move and Merge operations confirm before deleting destination files. Relocate leaves a symlink at the source so nothing ever 'disappears'. The app has built-in symlink-loop detection to prevent overwriting an original with a link to itself.
7 days from first launch. No payment method needed. Once it ends, the app shows a paywall until you activate a license. The trial state lives on the server keyed by an opaque machine fingerprint — reinstalling Storage Studio doesn't reset it.
Files stay exactly where they are. Storage Studio is a manager, not a vault — it never holds your data hostage. Cancelling stops the app from enforcing tier policies but leaves the file layout intact.
Your choice. Lifetime is one-off ($149) and includes all future updates. Monthly ($5/mo) and Annual ($49/yr) are recurring subscriptions through Stripe — cancel anytime in the Stripe Customer Portal and access continues until the end of the paid period.
All payments are final and non-refundable once you activate the app — this is why we offer a full 7-day free trial first. You can cancel a Monthly or Annual subscription anytime via the Stripe Customer Portal; future charges stop and your access runs until the end of the period already paid for. Statutory consumer rights (EU/UK 14-day right of withdrawal where unwaived, Australian Consumer Law, etc.) are preserved — contact us with your Stripe receipt and the legal basis.
