Notifications

Storage Studio keeps you informed in two complementary places: inside the app (the notification bell) and in macOS's own Notification Centre. Anything worth telling you about shows up in both.

Inside the app — the notification bell

The bell at the top of the window is Storage Studio's own notification center. It gathers the things you'll want to glance at:

• Background activity — a job that needs your attention.
• Plan and trial reminders — free trial ending, a paid plan

renewing soon, or a founder free period winding down.

• Cleanup suggestions, drive connect / disconnect notices, and the

like.

• Occasional messages from the Storage Studio team — a short,

timely note, sometimes with a button that takes you to the right screen or opens a guide in the Learning Center. If you dismiss one, it stays dismissed — it won't come back to nag you.

Also in macOS Notification Centre

Every one of those in-app notifications also appears in macOS's own Notification Centre, branded as "Storage Studio," so you see it even when the app's window isn't open:

• Informational items arrive quietly, with no banner.
• Warnings show a banner.
• Important ones can come through even while you're in a Focus.

Each notification is shown once and disappears the moment it's no longer relevant in the app, so your Notification Centre mirrors the bell rather than piling up. Examples: an external drive disconnected or reconnected, your internal disk running low (and an automatic relocation kicking in), an eject succeeding or a file still in use, and a scheduled tidy-up finishing.

On first launch, macOS asks once whether to allow notifications. Approve to see banners; the app remembers your answer and never asks again.
